One BIG cow

I have driven by Salem Sue hundreds of times but can’t remember the last time I actually stopped for a visit.

Shakes

The other day the kids and I took burgers and shakes out to the field.  Of course the kids had to go for a ride.

Sundays…

The last few Sundays have left me really tired of my garden.  It seems that Sunday is the day that I get to deal with all those goodies.  Today was another one of those days.  I took care of some tomatoes, peppers, beets, and onions.  I will post later this week on how I did each one of these.

Luckily the kids were so good while I was working on all this stuff.  They played with play-doh for two straight hours with not one complaint or whine from them!!  I was so impressed.

Chickens

It is very hard to get decent pictures of these chickens.  They move around a lot!!

Garden Update

Here is a little update on how my garden is doing.  The tomatoes are about as tall as 3 1/2 year olds.  I have noticed dry rot on some of the green tomatoes.  I have never had this happen before so I have been trying a few different things.

The green beans.  I dread looking through these because every time I do I end up with 3 ice cream pails of green beans.  IMG_5671

Baby Kittens

The baby kittens are loved so much……

This is the kitten that we decided to take home with us.  I asked the kids to give her a name and they insisted on naming her Baby Kitten.  Not baby kitty but Baby KittEN!  IMG_5475

Cool wheels

Here are the new wheels that we use to cruise around the farm.  I have never golfed but driving one of these golf carts wants me to take up golfing just so I can cruise the course.

Checking out the lake

Today we took a little road trip to check out the spillway that was opened up at the Garrison Dam.  It was pretty amazing to see what 150,000 cfs looks like being released from the dam.  The kids were amazed at all the water too!!  They called it a big bathtub.  They don’t realize all the damage that is being done downstream to all the homes and land.
