Winter storms

Once the calves get a little older and look healthy, they are moved out to the pasture. There are a few calf shelters in the pasture. But when the snow storms move in, more shelter is brought in. Bales are lined up to give them more protection from the wind.

The "Blue Bullet" is in place and very useful.

For watching the little ones like this:

Gotta have fun

My mom decided she needed to have a little fun with the calf and entertain all the grandkids with a show.

Getting tags ready

Getting the ear tags ready for the calves involves....

One of these pens:

A bunch of blank tags:

And a lot of time to write all the correct numbers on the right color tag. Then after one side is dry, the other side needs to be done.

Camper destruction

The camper project is almost done. Electricity is now being installed for a light and a few outlets. Here is the work that has been done so far:

The kitchen sink and stove were torn out of the camper.....resulting in this pile:

Another seat was built for the fridge and more seating room.

An old futon mattress will be put in the corner to make a "comfy" spot to take a nap while waiting for that cow to calve....

The table has not yet been put in it's place but it goes right in the middle of these two benches.

The Camper

Here is the project:

The 1955 camper has been sitting in the trees for the past 10 years. Meaning that the mice moved in. So, the project is to clean and disinfect the camper. Then do a little remodeling to make it into a hang-out to use while watching the cows calve.
